What is BitMEX?
BitMEX is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange located in Seychelles.
Founded in 2014, BitMEX is an advanced peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading platform, owned and operated by HDR Global Trading Co., Ltd. BitMEX was founded by Arthur Hayes, a former equities trader at Citigroup in Hong Kong, and Ben Delo, an Oxford-educated computer scientist who developed a high-frequency trading systems for JPMorgan, and Samuel Reed, a programmer who specializes in web applications. Currently, Arthur Hayes serves as the CEO of BitMEX.
Is BitMEX Safe?
BitMEX Exchange is devoted to improving the users' security continuously. In order to guarantee the safety of user accounts and assets, its security team continuously enhances multiple security measures, including:
- Two-factor Authentication
- Multisignature Deposit and Withdrawal Scheme
- Offline Storage
- Withdrawal will be Audited by at least Two BitMEX Employees
- Deposit Addresse will be verified by an External Service
- Amazon Web Services
- Optional PGP Encryption for Automated Emails
